Looking back at Easter weekend

Easter is a long weekend in Germany, as both Friday and Monday are holidays.  Makes a nice break.

I like to bake for a weekend, and this one was no exception.  I made several dozen lemon cupcakes with Easter decorations but they didn't hang around long enough to be photographed.  Can't imagine where they might have gone to....

But what could then be an appropriate cake for this weekend?  The first clue:

The carrots, in their virginal state (so to speak).  Then they got thrown in the food processor.

And a cake batter got put together and shoved in the oven:

And came out looking like this:

We had all kinds of yummy things to eat over the weekend, starting with fresh salmon fillets on Friday and veal on Saturday. I had to work on Easter Sunday, and it turned out to be many, many hours. So Norbert took care of the steaks and made his marvelous mashed potatotes.

By the way, Lucas no longer has to wear those orange and white checked shirts, he has now moved into black and gray with orange accents.

Check out this word on his back.  And here I thought he worked for a German company....

Hope everyone had a good Easter weekend and lots of chocolate.  My chocolate bunny has somehow lost his ears!
